Modern CEO Newsletter

I was tapped to create the branding for Modern CEO, a digital newsletter by Stephanie Mehta, CEO of Inc. and Fast Company. The newsletter targets CEOs from the vastly different Inc. and Fast Company audiences. This required a design approach that appealed to both groups.

Because Modern CEO is its own entity, it benefited from a unique branding system to differentiate it from all branded Inc. and Fast Company digital newsletters and other content. I utilized “mismatched” typography to reflect the newsletter’s audience variety, later expanding the font variations into a pattern that featured on promotional collateral, newsletters, and article headers. For the color palette, I went with shades of purple, since this color doesn’t appear in either magazine's branding. This color choice allowed for a custom, project-specific approach.
